Jørgen Rasmussen is an associate professor and head of the Department of Design at the Aarhus School of Architecture.

In addition to his role as head of department and research, Jørgen Rasmussen is involved in a several projects within the Department of Design. For example, he has played an important role in the developing the project Tilgængelighed og design for alle (Accessibility and design for all). Jørgen Rasmussen was also involved in the EU-research project PalCom, an interdisciplinary project with the overarching goal of making the computer technology that is being integrated in a growing number of products and work processes easier to understand and control.

Jørgen Rasmusssen has a particular interest in Strategic Design, including methods for including designers in companies’ strategic processes much more extensively than has traditionally been the case.  This process goes beyond the development and design of tangible products, and is initiated long before any decision to develop a specific product. For example, in some cases designers might be able to find/design entirely new competitive parameters, which obviously provide significant competitive advantages for a company.

Jørgen Rasmussen graduated as an industrial designer from the Aarhus School of Architecture in 1989.
