The Danish Centre for Design Research aims to promote design research in Denmark in general, and particularly to contribute to establishing a strong design research environment that embraces the schools of both architecture and design. This research environment should form the basis for developing research-based education in the design degree programmes under the Danish Ministry of Culture.
The Danish Centre for Design Research should engage in active collaboration with private enterprises. The goal is partly to make the results of design research available to Danish companies, partly to work with specific companies on creating new, directly applicable knowledge. Thus, the DCDR aims to strengthen the exchange of knowledge about design research and facilitate the identification of potential areas of collaboration for researchers, schools and enterprises, on a national as well as an international level.
