The Danish Centre for Design Research comprises the design researchers at the Aarhus School of Architecture, The Danish Design School, Designskolen Kolding and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture. In addition, the DCDR has an office that handles administrative tasks, communication, the master's programme, and research. The office is situated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture in Copenhagen.
Academic management
Academic management is handled by a Steering Committee, which comprises a chairman (appointed by the Danish Ministry of Culture), the rectors of the Danish schools of architecture and design, and two external, international members.
The Design Fund
The DCDR is in charge of awarding grants from the national fund for design research. The DCDR's Advisory Research Committee reviews the grant applications and makes recommendations to the Steering Committee concerning the allocation of research funds. The Advisory Research Committee meets three times a year following the deadlines for grant applications.
