Dorthe Mejlhede is in charge of daily management and development of the Danish Centre for Design Research together with the Chairman of the Board and the Steering Committee; these tasks include financial management, liaising with the Danish Ministry of Culture, and providing office services to DCDR researchers, the Coordination Committee, the Advisory Research Committee and the Steering Committee.  

Dorthe Mejlhede has previously worked with communication, research dissemination and management in political organisations, most recently as information manager in the Association of Public Health Dentists in Denmark, where one of her areas of responsibility was heading a large, externally-funded project on research dissemination in cooperation with researchers, journalists and generalists. Dorthe Mejlhede has been director of the Danish Centre for Design Research since April 2007.

In 1992, she took an extended master’s degree in literature from the University of Copenhagen, specialising in Anton Ehrenzweig’s theories on creativity.
