At one and the same time this is a history book, a reference book and a snapshot of where Danish design is right now.
It is a journey in design through the time of the Viking ships and petroglyphs to the latest furniture and a user-friendly backpack vacuum cleaner. It also covers most areas of design from royal porcelain, to telephone booths, to newspaper layout and T-shirt fashion.
In short it's about how, i.e. on what basis and by which means, Denmark became an innovative design country.
